downloading music the legal way

Downloading Music the Legal WayWriten by Eriani Doyel

Do you thing downloading music illegally is not a big deal? It was a big deal just a few years ago. Napster was offering a free file sharing service to members and it allowed people to download music without paying for it. When the music industry found out how many people were downloading music this way and not buying their CDs in the store or online they filed suit against Napster. Napster lost and they went out of business. People who were caught downloading music this way were prosecuted and fined. The same laws that put those people and Napster in legal trouble are still there. If you are downloading music, do it the legal way, through a downloading service. Napster is now back in business legally and is cooperating with the music industry to provide music at a low cost to consumers.

To find the best service for downloading music to meet your particular needs and tastes, you should shop around online. Most of the sites offer similar features, so it is more a matter of cost and plans as well as the types of downloads they offer. For example, if you are a country music fan, you would want to subscribe to a site which showcases the newest country hits and artists. You can find sites which will offer unlimited downloads, with a monthly subscription fee, but if you are downloading music to burn onto CDs you usually have to pay per song or per album. The charge per song is about a dollar and for a whole album it is about ten dollars.

Burning CDs is fairly simple if you have the right software and equipment. You need to have a CD burner in your PC and a CD software program along with a CD-R (not a CD-RW) disc. You can download the software online if you want. You can pick your songs from a music download site and organize them the way you want them. You cannot burn songs that you do not pay for because they are encrypted to prevent theft.

Download your music legally. Its the right thing to do.
